Hello! Welcome to YOU DON’T KNOW, a Wayfind Collective podcast. Our episodes feature the brilliant stories of our neighbors on the fringes via organizations that are committed to their flourishing.
These groups (often nonprofits) are experts on the topic at hand, so we hope this is a space that allows them to guide us through a journey of newfound awareness as we learn to see + hear, grow in empathy, and move our feet on behalf of the often overlooked and/or outcast.
What happens when a child experiences sexual abuse? What happens inside of them – to their brain and body? What kinds of external responses might we see? And what happens, if we discover that the exact same atrocity happened to their mother or father? How can they heal and move beyond the trauma to lead whole, happy, healthy lives? Enter the brilliant work of places like the Children's Center for Hope & Healing (www.HopeAndHealingGA.org).The Children's Center for Hope & Healing's mission is to restore dignity, trust, and hope to individuals and families traumatized by child sexual abuse through accessible and effective therapy, advocacy, and education.
All of this they provide FOR FREE.
Children's Center for Hope & Healing is a local mental health resource for survivors of childhood sexual abuse here in our neighborhood. But (and this is very important) – no matter where you are, you probably have one of these centers very close to you. In the event that you do not, please know that you can call any of them. They will not turn you away, they will do their very best to help you find local resources no matter where you are, and if you do not have local resources, they will help you as much as they possibly can.
Anyone can make a referral or request services. You do not have to have DFCS involvement to receive services. If you or a loved one has experienced sexual abuse, visit the CCHH referral page (link: https://www.hopeandhealingga.org/referrals) or call (770) 532-6530 to get help.
The National Sexual Assault Hotline Number is 1-800-656-4673.
In this episode you'll discover how CCHH partners with survivors and their families to treat wounds, restore dignity, and bring restoration that will have ripple effects through generations for the entire neighborhood.

Wayfind's mission is to learn what it truly means to love your neighbor as yourself.
So, we share the stories of our neighbors in order to evoke a culture of movement that seeks to bridge the gaps in our neighborhoods.
Everything we do is because of the generous support of many people just like you, so thank you, from all of us on the Wayfind team for being a part of this project with us.
